Pam Rizza

Pam Rizza

Pam Rizza is in her first year as a board member for USD 409!  She ran for a board member position because she sees being a board member as a way to give back to the community.  She has two kids who will go through the USD 409 school system and she wants to see her service influence their future as well as all of the youth of Atchison.  She says, “Kids are our future, and therefore, feel like I should invest my time and energy to guide the best public education they can receive.”

Pam isn’t just a board member!  She is also a Physician at the Atchison Hospital.  She is married with two daughters, ages 4 and 10. She also has a Goldendoodle named Ginger!  When she isn’t school boarding or doctoring you will often find her staying active. She is a triathlete and enjoys running, biking, swimming and lifting weights.  You can find her running down the road or at the YMCA! She also enjoys reading and is addicted to streaming tv shows in her downtime.  She likes to cook, with an emphasis on delicious and nutrient-dense foods

When asked what Pam hopes to see for the future of USD 409 she said, “We have so much potential. I would like to see positive outcomes that surrounding communities take notice of. That can come in many forms, including what our graduates accomplish, test scores, athletic and extracurricular success just to name a few. If we begin having families move to Atchison because of the district's reputation, then we will know we have done our jobs well.”

Pam wants people to know that she is willing to listen and take people’s concerns seriously.  She may not have the power or ability to solve everyone’s problems but she is a sympathetic ear and will help guide people in the right direction to help resolve their issues.
